Gabriel J. CantresSoftware engineer in Puerto Rico

Software shaped around how your business works.

Web apps, customer portals, booking and intake systems, integrations, and automation, for teams that have outgrown spreadsheets and copy-paste.

  • Written quote before any work starts
  • A preview link for every change
  • You own the repository and the accounts
  • AI-assisted, engineer-reviewed

What I build

Five kinds of project I take on, and when each one makes sense.

  • Web apps and customer portals

Logins, dashboards, orders, and documents your clients can see.

Good fit when customers keep emailing for information a portal could show them.

  • Booking and intake systems

Appointments, forms, waitlists and reminders that land in your tools.

Good fit when scheduling happens over phone calls and direct messages.

  • Integrations and APIs

Connect your website, payments, accounting, Odoo and other apps so data moves on its own.

Good fit when the same order is typed into three systems.

  • Internal tools and dashboards

Admin panels and reports your team actually uses.

Good fit when the real system is a spreadsheet only one person understands.

  • AI and automation

Document processing, data entry, summaries, routing, and assistants that answer from your own data, with a human in the loop where it matters.

Good fit when someone spends hours each week moving information around.

How I build

A few habits that keep projects predictable.

  • A written plan before code

You see the scope, the order of work and the price before I write anything.

  • Small releases

Every change gets a preview link, so you see progress and can steer early.

  • A maintainable stack

React, TypeScript, Python and PostgreSQL: mainstream tools that any developer can pick up later.

  • You own it

The repository, the accounts and the domain are in your name.

  • A documented handover

You get notes on how it works and how to run it, so you are never stuck depending on me.

  • Honest advice

If an off-the-shelf tool is the better buy, I'll tell you.

How pricing works

Written quote per phase; small changes $60/hr.

Example projects

Client case studies are on the way. Until then, these labeled examples show the kind of problem I solve and how I'd approach it.

  • Example

Admin dashboard for a small online shop

    The problem
Orders, stock counts and customer messages spread across a spreadsheet and three inboxes.
    How I'd approach it
A private web dashboard where you see new orders, update stock and track what has shipped.
    What you'd get
One place to run the day, with nothing retyped.
    • Web app
    • Dashboard
  • Example

Booking and reminders for a service business

    The problem
Appointments arranged by phone and direct message, with double bookings and no-shows.
    How I'd approach it
An online booking page with available times, confirmation emails and reminders, plus a simple calendar view for you.
    What you'd get
Clients book on their own, and you see the day at a glance.
    • Booking
    • Web app
    • Automation
  • Example

Website orders flowing into the books

    The problem
The same order typed into the website admin, the accounting tool and a shipping form.
    How I'd approach it
An integration that passes each order to the other systems automatically, with a log of anything that needs attention.
    What you'd get
    Each order is entered once.
    • Integration
    • API
    • Automation

Software questions

Can you work with my existing system?

Yes. I can extend or connect what you already have, or tell you honestly when something new would serve you better.

Who hosts it, and what does it cost to run?

I favor free and low-cost hosting plans, set up in your name, so you aren't tied to me. The proposal lists the running costs before you commit.

What about my customers’ data?

It lives in your accounts, not mine. I work only with the access you give me, and I don't keep copies after the job.

Do you use AI to write code?

Yes, as a tool. It helps me move faster and keep costs down. I design the system, then review and test everything before it ships.

Tell me what you're building.

Send a few lines about your business and what you need. I'll reply by email to set up a call.
